Walk 24th August 2016 Green Dene - Sheepleas - Horsley

Green Dene CP - Beech - Angel Clump - St Mary's Church - Lollesworth Farm - Place Farm - Green Dene Plantation - CP

This walk was lead by a member of Mole Valley ramblers. The total numbers walking was 33 and the time taken will reflect the high numbers within the group, varying levels of fitness and a 15 minute break for coffee.

The walk starts from Green Dene CP from which you can also follow the Lovelace bridges walk with maps to be found within the car park. As well as from the Fancy free walks webpages http://fancyfreewalks.org/Surrey/HorsleyBridges.pdf?version=1

Todays walk goes into Sheepleas where there is a viewpoint looking north towards London which can be found on the route. Crossing the A road walking past West Horsley manor on the right towards the railway line to Lollesworth Farm (a grade 2 listed building) http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/564249 and returning to Sheepleas after crossing again the A road to Guildford. returning to the car park via an avenue of yew trees.

A buzzard was spotted on the walk today in the fields near to the railway line.
