Start point:- TQ060515
Distance:- 13.6 km; 8.45 miles
Time taken:- 2 hours 53 minutes
Route:-
East
Clandon Old Epsom Road - Blakes Lane - Fullers farm - Dawes Dene - Coombe
Lane - NDW (Hanger Wood) - Old Scotland Farm - West Clandon Church - Fox Way
- Clandon regis Golf club - East Clandon Old Epsom Road This route is my final best walk including Dawes Dene and taking the path between two fields/ hedgerows from TQ052503 to TQ049507 with a slight drawback. the path between those two grid references is growing vegetation and could well be overgrown in a matter of weeks. It is a good micro ecological location with many wild flowers and butterflies emerging along the route of the footpath. the field to the left looks more ideal to walk perhaps. The path running on the northern boundary of the Clandon burial ground is also becoming overgrown and stinging nettles are nice and fresh so don't wear shorts. The May blossom is out in force throughout the walk; and rhododendrons in places in the fields bordering Coombe lane. Bluebells are virtually finished although in sheltered spots a few are hanging on still in bloom |
