Newlands Corner CP - Water Lane - Pilgrims Way - St Martha's Hill - Chantries - NDW - Tyting's Farm - White Lane Farm - CP

Currently, at the time of walking there was no car parking charges at Newlands Corner. A petition against the imposition of charges took place in late 2015/early 2016. There are very good views over the surrounding countryside from Newlands Corner, with many self guided trails available to walk and explore.

Newlands Corner was a key location in the disappearance of Agatha Christie in 1926. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newlands_Corner. You can find many old Yew trees in the surrounding areas.

St Martha's hill offers superb views looking south and a chapel was established as early as Saxon times. http://www.stmarthaschurch.org.uk/history/ The site is worth a visit whatever the weather is. The walk up to the church is steep and sandy. There is a small walk which can be done around the church http://www.gps-routes.co.uk/routes/home.nsf/routeslinkswalks/st-marthas-hill-walking-route#

Or a longer walk of 10 miles available from the Fancy Free walks website

Another walk into this area starting in Guildford

The Chantries area was bought by Guildford council in 1936 with again good views looking south, stunning bluebell display and a view of Guildford cathedral from a vantage point within this wooded area.
